  Get the Wizard! And then don't buy an mp3 player, just use the wizard! 2GB mini SDs are about 30 bucks these days, and the sound quality on the thing is excellent. THe only drawback is that if you don't like the earbuds it comes with, you have to either use an adapter or find another set of headphones with a mini plug.

  I love my ipod. I cannot offer technical "whys" or arguements. All I know it I can use it, it works, and it;s never, ever, ever given me trouble. Plus everyone has one which in this case is great. Whenever I want something (armband, cover, etc) someone always says, "oh, I have one I never use so you can have it."

  I have taken my iPods camping, I have taken them to the beach, and in my two years of experience I have only once had the battery die on me when I really wished it wouldn't have and there was no convenient way to charge it (on an airplane flight). 99% of the time there's either a PC or a wall socket handy, and an hour later I have a fully charged iPod. Car adapters are also cheap, I've just not needed one enough to buy one yet. Something to keep in mind: AAs are heavy sons of bitches in comparison to the integrated batteries in iPods. Before you make your decision, I think you owe it to yourself to stop in at the Shops at Willow Bend, visit the Apple Store, and see what the buzz is about firsthand.
