...how many famous artists were never known before they were well into middle age? Quite a few, if you check it out.
I'll be fourty-eight when my son goes off to start his life (college). Hell, that's just a spring chicken. I'll get my wife back all to myself and we'll have tons of time together to travel and persue our dreams.
Don't give yours up man. You have a long way to go before the fat lady sings. :) And kids, family? That's just a whole new set of experience to draw from to fuel your art. You have something special. It's far from lost to time.
And as far as time with your family with a regular day job? Trust me, you make the time, even if it means being up with the kids at 6am so you can help them with homework before you take them to school and head to work, or taking off early from work twice a week to make soccer practice, or relegating those things you like doing to the hours after they go to bed. You get less sleep as a parent, but you do find the time for it all.
Hang in there, man. I think you're doing fine. And remember, you have a partner. She's there to pick up the slack. :)
