revjim.net: hmmm… this article seems really familiar

I've been having issues with it as well. I'm pretty fed up with their problems, but I like their interface the best out of all of the online aggregators. I tried newsgator, but last I checked, it was very slow. Most of the other ones had annoying UI issues as well.

I gave up on Bloglines too but haven't found a replacement yet.

    RevJim (& Bethany),

We're sorry about the disruption to your daily Bloglines reading. The bug released last night that caused the problem was fixed but you may see wacky unread counts until you click on the subscription or folder name. You can reset 'em all at once by clicking the "Mark All Read" link at the top of your feed list. Thanks for using Bloglines and let us know if you experience any other problems.

I gave up on Bloglines a few months ago (after it didn't download about half my feeds for three days) and have been happily using GreatNews (http://www.curiostudio.com/) since then. As I get a lot of image feeds from Flickr, it is not ideal for me to work in the standard 3 pane mode offered by most readers. I much prefer the two pane newspaper style, like Bloglines has. GreatNews is the only desktop aggregator I know of that supports this, and what's more supports it better than BlogLines. The pages load more quickly (because you can set your preferred page length) and the silly 200 unread item limit that Bloglines has is just a memory. Furthermore it's small and self-contained. After installing it I simply copied the whole install folder to my USB thumb drive and can run the same copy from home, work or wherever else I happen to get on the net. Oh and the other nice feature of GreatNews? Like Bloglines, it's free.
