revjim.net: ezPublish: slow and crufty

You should definitely have a look at Drupal. I needed to review eZ publish for a client and was appalled at how bad eZ publish performs.

This post is quite old. I'm not sure what the state of EZPublish is these days.

Well, most of the points in this article are still true and valid. I guess I found your blog post, because I could not believe that eZ Publish actually performs so bad, looking for potential oversights on the net.

Wow. That's actually shocking that they are still true. This article is 4 years old. It's hard to believe the software is still being developed and this stuff hasn't been fixed.

we're again one year further. ezpublish *is* being developed quite actively, and its not that things are 'not being fixed'. but i'm afraid the above article is still true in all its abstractness. its probably a matter of approach on ezp's side.

performance is an issue if performance is an issue. APC and 'a few basic tweaks' will improve it a bit, but it would improve performance on any other CMS the same bit.

As with all systems there is a learning curve. But with all the features available (Content Objects, nodes, XML content area, etc.) I would definitely give it some time. Especialy if you're building Corporate sites. Oh and performance is definitely not an issue if you can set up APC, etc. few basic tweaks on the server.
