revjim.net: And I can't sing the blues anymore

If you have to buy a new mattress, I suggest Select Comfort. Yes it's expensive, but it rocks (as in 'you to sleep', not 'your socks off') and I know for a fact their customer service has always been excellent (yes I know time and things change.)

I'll check them out for sure if I have to buy new. What I prefer in a mattress is FIRM and inexpensive. Due to the all the gross stuff that gets trapped in a mattress, I'd much prefer a cheap one I replace every 5 years to an expensive one that I keep for 20. Because after 20 years... ew.

And I don't need pillow top, memory, feather foam. I can buy that after market if desired. I just need something softer than the floor. That's all. :)

And... if my mattress is going to rock. Ideally it'd have a knob so I can select between "you to sleep" and "your socks off". Because... every now and then, I'm just too lazy to take off my own socks.

And I miss you. We need to hang out. Soon.

Never thought about the ew's staying in my bed... geez thanks!
Let me know if you want a more consumer review of Select Comfort.
The knob I've found that rocks my socks off rarely stays in the bed... just saying!
I miss you as well and yes hanging out would be good, life gets so complicated so fast.

Stick with me. It's all "ew" all the time. Wait... I'm supposed to be picking up chicks not pushing them away?!

It took me a few reads to get your "knob" joke. Ha. I'm slow. :)

I'm going to try like mad to make the next face painting. If it's a Monday, I'll have to see if J will swap with me for C.

It is Monday the 28th from 6-9 (ish) and Major Tom's and you should definitely come out if you can!
    Hope to see you there!

Working on arranging a swap with J for that night. I hope I hope I hope.

    Swap arranged. I'll be there!

"Falling for You" - Colbie Callat
"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" - Death Cab for Cutie
    "I'm Yours" - Jason Mraz
Lots of Norah Jones (can't think of specific songs right now)
Also, check out Ani DiFranco's new album, Red Letter Year. Much more positive and "wow the world is wonderful" kind of vibe.

I'll think of more later - these have been my favorites lately. :)

Ah yes! "I'm Yours" certainly fits the bill. I'll check out the other tracks you mentioned tonight.

I haven't heard any "new" Ani since revealing and reckoning. I probably should.

*cracking up at your depiction of the modern love song* I don't pay attention to current music too much. You're supposed to turn your mattress every 6 months. This was something that was on my calendar before I was gifted with temperfoam.
  • Daniel · 3 months ago
I turn mine every 3 months, because I'm lame/cool like that. But... this is a special mattress that does not need to be, and in fact cannot be, flipped. So... I can only spin it. And... I'm not even sure I'm supposed to. I think it has magical padding designed for each body part or something like that. Like I said, it was an expensive mattress.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for the most part you're going to have to listen to country to find those now.
  • brush · 3 months ago
Not necessarily... there is a whole world of emo that both of y'all have avoided (J moreso than D) My favorite way to find new music is to use Pandora.

Daniel, check out The Shins. I'm listening to Phantom Limb... sounds like what you may be looking for.
  • Daniel · 3 months ago
Thank you. I'll check that out tonight.

I'm actually okay with Country. I'd like to find some Rock or Pop songs as well. But Country is okay.
